PRIVACY POLICY

Catia’s Alterations LLC (“Catia’s Alterations,” “we,” “us”) is a wedding-gown alterations studio at 2267 Washington Rd., Washington, IL 61571. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit catiasalterations.com, book an appointment or contact us, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to look after you and your gown, and we never sell your personal information.
Information we collect
Information you give us when you book. When you book a Discovery Call, fitting or other appointment, we ask for:
- your name, email address and phone number
- your wedding date and the date you need your gown completed
- details about the alterations you’d like and where your gown was purchased
- your budget range
- photos of your gown, which may include photos of you wearing it
- how you heard about us
Information you give us at the studio. During fittings we record measurements, alteration notes and the details of your Fit Plan and invoice.
Payment information. Fitting fees paid online are processed by Stripe through our scheduling system. We don’t receive or store your full card number. Payments made in the studio are processed by card and handled the same way.
Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep the email and any photos you attach.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our site and hosting provider record basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited and the date and time of your visit. See “Cookies” below.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- review your request and confirm whether we’re the right studio for your gown
- schedule, confirm and remind you about appointments
- prepare your Fit Plan, alter your gown and process payments
- respond to your questions and keep you updated about your gown
- keep business, tax and accounting records
- understand how our website is used so we can improve it
Photos. We use photos of your gown only to prepare for and carry out your alterations. We will never post photos of you or your gown, or share your review alongside wedding photos, on our website or social media without your written permission.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with the service providers that help us run the studio, and only as needed for them to provide their service:
- Acuity Scheduling (online booking, intake forms, appointment confirmations and text reminders)
- Stripe (processing online fitting-fee payments)
- Google Workspace (our business email)
- Zoho (our client and order records)
- HostGator (website hosting)
- Google Analytics (understanding how visitors use our website)
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), through the Meta Pixel (measuring and showing our ads)
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights or the safety of our clients and staff. We do not sell or rent your personal information. Apart from the Meta Pixel used for our own ads (see Cookies), we don’t share it with other businesses for marketing.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are needed for the site to work properly and to remember your choices, such as dismissing the cookie notice. We also use:
- Google Analytics, to understand in aggregate how visitors find and use our site. Google sets its own cookies for this; you can opt out with Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Meta Pixel, which tells Meta (Facebook and Instagram) when someone visits our site so we can measure our ads and show them to people who may be interested. You can manage how Meta uses this in your Facebook ad preferences.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though some features may not.
Text messages
If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive texts, we send appointment confirmations and reminders through our scheduling system (Acuity), and may text you updates about your gown. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time or HELP for help, or email hello@catiasalterations.com.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Emails
We email you only about your appointments and your gown. We don’t send newsletters or promotional emails.
How long we keep your information
We keep your client record, Fit Plan and invoices for as long as we need them to complete your alterations, and then for up to 7 years for tax and accounting purposes. Gown photos and booking details for requests that don’t go ahead are deleted within 12 months.
Keeping your information safe
We use reputable service providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No website or email system is completely secure, so please don’t send sensitive information such as card numbers by email.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it when we no longer need it for your order or our legal records. Email hello@catiasalterations.com and we’ll respond within 30 days.
Children
Our services and website are intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed.
